Chief Insp. Alexander Sarabia, the police’s public information officer, said the unexploded grenade was planted by still unidentified suspects apparently targetting a bus owned by Husky Transport bearing plate number LWH 699 parked outside the school along Osmeña Street in Barangay Dadiangas.
Sarabia said initial investigations revealed that witnesses saw two suspects on board a red and black Honda Wave motorcycle with no plate number planting the hand grenade.
Police authorities are looking into extortion as the motive behind the bombing attempt.
Earlier last Sunday, two buses owned by Husky were also damaged when unidentified suspects lobbed a hand grenade at the company’s terminal in Cotabato City. No one was hurt in the incident. (Williamor A. Magbanua / MindaNews contributor)
