NorthCot’s Pinol, 3 others demand copy of draft interim pact

DAVAO CITY (MindaNews/23 April) – North Cotabato Vice Governor Emmanuel Pinol, his brother, Rep. Bernard Pinol (2nd district, North Cotabato) and two board members of the province in a letter Thursday to the Philippine government through the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP), demanded  “a copy of the draft of the Interim Peace Agreement with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) which Malacanang would like to sign before the end of the term of Presidential Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.”

GRP, MILF to craft interim pact in early May but ok return of ‘bakwits’ and dealing with UXOs

DAVAO CITY (MindaNews/21 April) – No interim agreement was signed by the Philippine government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) at the end of the two-day 18th Exploratory Talks in Kuala Lumpur Wednesday but the parties vowed to meet again in early May to “craft the interim document.”

GRP, MNLF sign MOU in Libya to continue implementing ’96 peace pact

DAVAO CITY (MindaNews/21 April) -- The Government of the Republic of the Philippines (GRP) and the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Tripoli, Libya to continue working on the implementation of the Final Peace Agreement of  September 2, 1996, the  Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP) said.

GRP needs permanent negotiators in peace talks, says Senate bet

Gov’t, MILF resume talks in KL

DAVAO CITY (MindaNews/21 April) – The government and Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) peace panels are now in Kuala Lumpur to discuss the drafts they prepared for an interim peace agreement.

But no signing may be expected in this present negotiation as the drafts of the two panels are reportedly still “far apart.”
