Seven LGUs compete in Kaamulan 2009 street dancing

MALAYBALAY CITY (MindaNews / March 6) - Seven local government units are set to compete in this year’s Kaamulan street dancing competition, including former champion San Fernando, Cesar Apao, spokesperson to Gov. Jose Ma. R. Zubiri Jr said.

Apao said it is all-systems go for the competition.

 
Parade of colorful 'ginakits' to highlight Shariff Kabunsuan fest

KIDAPAWAN CITY (MindaNews/5 Dec 5) – Parade of colorful boats will highlight the celebration of the Shariff Kabunsuan Festival on December 19 in Cotabato City.

These richly-decorated boats, called 'ginakit' in Maguindanaon dialect, depict Arab missionary Shariff Muhammad Kabunsuan's ship when he first landed in Grande de Mindanao in the 15th century.
