(Last Installment)

GENERAL SANTOS CITY (MindaNews/21 Feb) – MILF peace panel chair Mohagher Iqbal’s remarks at the GRP-MILF at the opening of the GRP-MILF meeting last January 28 depicted the state of the peace process at the sunset of Arroyo’s nine-year rule. The question he tacitly asked will remain a defining issue.

Vague

The government is offering the MILF “enhanced” autonomy.  But nowhere in the proposal are the geographical area and political jurisdiction defined.  Certainly, this cannot be in the air.

I. Tacit Question

GENERAL SANTOS CITY (MindaNews/16 February)  “Is the peace pact still possible in five months?” This was the question – and the title, too – MILF negotiation panel chair Mohagher Iqbal’s five-paragraph opening statement tacitly asked when the GRP and MILF panels met in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia last January 27.

(Part 2 of a series)

GENERAL SANTOS CITY (MindaNews/21 Jan) – In this article last issue, we discussed that the November 23 historic event should be appropriately called “Masalay massacre”. We clarified the number of media victims to be 31 according to the FFFJ verified list. We wondered if all the 31 had received P140,000 each from the government.
