Mindanao State U heads discuss peace education in Penang

PENANG, Malaysia (MindaNews/11 January) – At least 30 state university and college presidents in Mindanao arrived here today for the four-day “Mindanao Educators Peace Summit” that starts January 12 on the theme: “Transforming the Conflict in Mindanao Through Peace Education and Quality Higher Education.”

DAVAO CITY  (MindaNews/17 Nov) –  An Academic Publishing Conference and Mini Book Fair will be held on November 19 and 20 at the Ateneo de Davao University.

The activity is organized by the National Book Development Board (NBDB), in partnership with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED and will feature lecturers from top university-based publishers of the country, as well as Google’s Mr. Erik Hartmann, Strategic Partner Development Manager, whose impressive background and long experience in e-marketing will surely benefit participants.

KIDAPAWAN CITY (MindaNews/16 September) – An official of a state university in North Cotabato survived an attempt on his life Wednesday morning in a busy street in Kabacan town.
Dr. Samson Molao, director for instructions at the University of Southern Mindanao, the biggest state university in Region 12, sustained three gunshot wounds in his back and left arm, according to Chief Insp. Franklin Anito, chief of Kabacan Police.

KORONADAL CITY (MindaNews/13 April) – The University of the Philippines (UP) Manila has reportedly called off its planned expansion in South Cotabato this year due to peace and order problems in the area, South Cotabato Gov. Daisy Avance-Fuentes said.
