MARAWI CITY (MindaNews/27 May) – The presence here of alleged election operators identified with Malacañang in time for the holding of special polls for Lanao del Sur abetted fears raised by some sectors that the administration will manipulate the results of special elections in 13 of 39 towns here to boost the winning chances of Team Unity senatorial candidates.

The towns account for nearly 100,000 registered voters.

MARAWI CITY (MindaNews/27 May) -- After the board of election inspectors failed to show up in the town of Butig, a group of candidates for the 10-seat provincial board of Lanao del Sur filed a case against officials of the Commission of Elections before the Sharia court of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front.

GENERAL SANTOS CITY (MindaNews/23 May) – A least two explosions rocked the municipal hall compound in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat Tuesday night, forcing the municipal board of canvassers to hastily abandon the town council's session hall where the canvassing of election returns was being held.

ILIGAN CITY (MindaNews/May 15)-- "I saw people running so we ran, too." This is how Adona Orquillas, a member of provincial monitoring team of the government peace panel described the situation in Maigo town in Lanao del Norte when a number of armed men entered the polling precincts at the poblacion on Monday to "pour the bottles of indelible ink on official ballots and snatch the ballot boxes."
