“A picture paints a thousand words, as the saying goes, and that’s what in precisely the participants of the 1st CCT Photography Exhibit entitled Talan-awon 2012 that features the collection of the CCT members’ best photos, as they better acknowledged the group and actually does,” as mentioned by the Mr. Castillo, the CCT President.
The Camera Club of Tagum (CCT) is breaking grounds as it mounted its first photography exhibition at the 1st and 4th floors of the NCCC Mall of Tagum.
The said exhibit that will run until December was formally opened last October 26, 2012 which were graced by City Officials who are also photography enthusiast – Senior City Councilor Oyo Uy, Councilor Bong Aala, Councilor Maylene Baura and City Administrator Rafael E. Abrenica.
The Camera Club of Tagum founded by Tagum City veteran photographer Mr. Astrophil Reyes right from his photography workshops, has now grown to 23 members who are composed of 70% students and 30% professionals under the supervision of the CCT President Mr. Eric Castillo.
Talan-awon showcased mostly the breath-taking landscapes of Tagum City, colorful festivals and captivating portraitures that capture perfectly unforgetable moments in time.
One of the new CCT members and a photo hobbyist Gerry Gementiza described his love of photography as an expression of how he sees the world and making those captured moments to shed off emotions and beauty that very much describe life.
Most of the exhibited photos are outputs submitted during the CCT’s thematic monthly photo contest specifically conducted to provide venue for critiquing members’ works and sharing in techniques in improving each other’s skills in photography.
The Camera Club of Tagum which are now actively participating in many special events in the city are considered by Councilor Oyo Uy as silently helping in promoting Tagum City through the pictures uploaded on their social networking accounts such as facebook and twitter.
