A man sells monitor lizards (locally known as “halo” or “ibid,” or “bayawak” in Tagalog-speaking areas) along the highway in Kabacan, North Cotabato on Wednesday (24 Sept 2013). The bigger one is priced at P600 while the small one is priced at P200. The lizards are sold for their meat, which some believe is aphrodisiac. One kind of such lizards, the Panay monitor lizard, has been declared as endangered. MindaNews Photo by Ruby Thursday More
