President Aquino Failed in Delivering Justice to Ampatuan Massacre Victims – GWP REP. EMMI DE JESUS

“The slow pace of the Ampatuan massacre trial proved President Aquino’s administration inutile in securing swift justice for the
victims and families of the massacre, as it continues to cultivate and foster the culture of impunity. The Ampatuan massacre symbolizes the
evil alliances of political dynasties and how they can embed themselves into power to exploit the country,” declared GWP Rep. Emmi
De Jesus, on the occasion of the 3rd anniversary of the slaughter of 58 people in Barangay Salman, Ampatuan, Maguindanao on Nov. 23, 2009.

“There were twenty-one (21) women among the Ampautan massacre victims, with five (5) of them raped and molested prior to their death. Three years after the massacre, not one of the accused has been convicted. The Aquino administration continues to “Noynoy” and dillydally, doing practically nothing to deliver swift justice which he can easily solve with a stroke of his pen, that is, if he has the political will to do
so,” stressed de Jesus.

“Habang nananatiling walang hustisya para sa mga biktima ng massacre, mananatiling malansa at duguan ang ‘tuwid na daan’ na hindi na nga
kayang ipagmalaki ng pamahalaang ito,” added Rep De Jesus.

“As long as the Aquino government does nothing to speed up justice for the Ampatuan massacre and for all the victims of impunity in the
country, Philippine democracy and freedom are deceptions and shadows of unrealized hopes,” ended De Jesus.###
