DAVAO CITY – To saturate the market for the Visit Davao Fun Sale (VDFS), organizers launched the Visit Davao City Lifebit App, which serves as a digital access to discounts and freebies being offered by participating establishments for the on-going Visit Davao Fun Sale, from April 3 to May 17, 2015.

The mobile app contains about 250 discount coupons from around 200 participating restaurants and entertainment centers, as well as spa and wellness establishments across the city. It is available for download for Android and iOS users starting April 3. As of this writing, VDFS mobile app developer, Twidle Inc., reported that downloads of the application already reached 150 since its launch at Google Store on the said date.

The mobile app offers user-friendly features where users can easily sign up with their Facebook account. After the initial download and sign up of users, the application may be used online or offline. Discounts and promos from participating establishments are grouped according to area for easy reference of users.

To create more fun, users of the mobile app will gain points for every redeemed coupon for a chance to win roundtrip airline tickets. Through the app’s special features, users will be able to know the total points they have redeemed and their point standing compared to other users.

For non-smartphone users, the printed copy of the Visit Davao Fun Sale passport may be used to enjoy the discounts and promos from the participating establishments. These passports may be claimed for free at the information booths located at participating malls, airport and partner hotels.

Both the mobile app and the VDFS passport may be used for access to VDFS events like the DurianMan triathlon on May 2, and electronic dance parties—Visit Davao Fun Sale Heat Wave Summer End Parties and Party at the Peak on May 16.

The Visit Davao Fun Sale, a six-week, seven weekends tourism sale campaign is a collaborative effort of the Department of Tourism 11, City Government of Davao, Office of Councilor Al Ryan Alejandre and the private tourism stakeholders of Davao City.
