ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanews/06 Febuary) — Tawi-Tawi Governor Sadikul Sahali has tapped the assistance of all sectors, including the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF), to help search the two European tourists who were abducted February 1 while taking photographs of rare bird species off Barangay Parangan, Panglima Sugala town.
The 52-year old Ewold Horn and the 47-year old Lorenzo Vincigurre from Switzerland were seized along with Ivan Sarenas, 35, their Filipino guide. Sarenas managed to escape hours later as he jumped off the twin engine motorized banca that the kidnappers used.
Senior Supt. ROdelio Jocson said the Naval Forces Western Mindanao |Command has deployed three gunboats around Languyan municipality where the gunmen and the victims on board, were headed when Sarenas escaped.
Jocson said the motorized banca used by the suspects were recovered on the shore of Languyan town.
Jocson said they still do not have any idea who is behind the abduction since no one has come forward to claim responsibility. (Mindanews)
