KIDAPAWAN CITY(May 1/Tuesday) – A public school teacher and another resident were wounded when a fragmentation grenade exploded in poblacion Pikit, North Cotabato, in front of the house of the treasurer of a town in Maguindanao

Sr. Insp. Elias Dandan, Pikit police chief identified the victims as Joreva Mariscal, 54, teacher; and Teresita Delicano, 30, both residents of Poblacion, Pikit.

Dandan said the victims were inside the house of Juliet Mariscal, newly-appointed treasurer of Pagalungan town in Maguindanao, when a still unidentified suspect tossed the grenade.

Sr. Supt. Cornelio Salinas, North Cotabato police chief said initial reports indicated that internal squabbles over the recent appointment could be the motive behind the grenade throwing incident.
