ZAMBOANGA CITY (MindaNews / 7 Nov) – Some 25 members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) from this city were hurt in a road mishap here late Tuesday, a police official disclosed.
Chief Insp. Ricardo Garcia, Police Station 2 commander, said the victims were aboard one of the two hired public utility jeepneys (PUJs) on the way home coming from a convention on the GPH-MILF Framework Agreement in Pagadian City.
Garcia said the vehicle turned turtle and plunged into a roadside shallow canal around 7 p.m. Tuesday in Barangay Lubigan after its driver, Wahid Alih, 34, fell asleep and lost control of the steering wheel.
The victims are residents of Barangay Recodo, this city, Garcia said. They suffered bruises and bumps brought about by the impact of the road mishap, he added. (MindaNews)
