CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (MindaNews/25 February)—Employees and reporters of Radio Mo Nationwide (RMN) found their museum curator Felicisimo Sasing dead in a pool of blood here, early afternoon Monday.
Responding police officer SPO1 Rey Gunayan of Police Station 1, said in an interview that he found Sasing, 72, fully-clothed lying face down on the floor of RMN museum office with blood around the body, around 1:30 pm.
“When I found him (Sasing), his face was already discolored and his body bloated. I did not see any laceration but there was a lot of blood around his body,” Gunayan said.
Scene of the Crime Operatives (Soco) team leader PSI April Carbajal-Madroño told local reporters that Sasing may have been dead since Friday evening.
Based on the discoloration of the face and the bloating of the cadaver, Sasing died approximately 72 hours from when he was found, he said.
In an interview Monday, Sasing’s daughter Cindy Sasing said she had tried to contact her father since Saturday.
“I came to visit him here (RMN Museum) three times last Saturday. I knocked very hard but no one answered. I tried again on Sunday, still no one answered. I couldn’t ask for a key to the museum since the RMN admin office was closed,” she said.
She added that when she last talked to her father, the latter seemed to be in good shape.
“Okay ra man siya adtong Sabado,” (He looked fine last Saturday) Sasing’s daughter said.
Edwina Borres, RMN traffic supervisor and administrative officer said Sasing was one of the pioneering broadcasters that helped the network.
“He has been working here since February 1, 1966. I never had a problem with him when he was the station manager of our AM station before,” said Borres.
She said Sasing rose from the ranks, starting from being the network’s broadcast technician to being the manager of their AM station, dxCC,.
She added that the Canoys—owners of the network—appointed Sasing the network’s museum curator after he retired from broadcasting in the early 90s. (Cong Corrales/MindaNews)
