MALAYBALAY CITY (MindaNews/22 March) — Tropical depression “Caloy” continued to move west at 11 kilometers per hour after making landfall in Tandag City, Surigao del Sur, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Saturday.
Caloy’s strength, however, has not changed. Its maximum sustained winds remained at 45 km per hour near the center, Pagasa said in its 11 a.m. bulletin.
The tropical depression is expected to be at 50 kilometers southwest of Surigao City by Sunday morning and at 470 km East of Puerto Princesa City by Monday morning, it added.
In Mindanao, Signal number 1 remained hoisted over Surigao del Sur, Surigao del Norte including Siargao, Dinagat, Northern Agusan del Sur, Agusan del Norte, Northern Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental, Misamis Occidental, and Camiguin.
Signal number 1 was also raised over Southern Leyte, Bohol, Siquijor, Cebu, Negros Provinces, Guimaras in the Visayas.
By Tuesday morning, Caloy is expected to be at 240 km East of Puerto Princesa City, Pagasa said. (MindaNews)
