Former Surigao solon, mayor to be buried on Saturday
SURIGAO CITY (MindaNews/09 May)—Former city mayor and Surigao del Norte representative Constantino Navarro will be buried tomorrow (Saturday) at the Manila Memorial Park.
He was 72.
Navarro died last Saturday due to lingering illness.
His remains lie at Mount Carmel in New Manila, Quezon City.
Navarro served as mayor from 1980 to 1985 following an appointment by then President Ferdinand Marcos.
He also served for two terms as congressman of Surigao del Norte’s first district from 1995 to 2001.
Dr. Amadeo Alinea, Navarro’s doctor, said the former leader was suffering from dementia, kidney disease and diabetes. (Roel Catoto/MindaNews)
