NHA says housing for Zambo ‘bakwits’ finished by June 2015

ZAMBOANGA CITY (MindaNews/07 July) – The National Housing Authority (NHA) said it could finish the construction of 5,587 housing units by June 2015 for the residents displaced by the standoff last year between government forces and the Moro National Liberation Front-Nur Misuari faction.

Thousands of residents were displaced when Misuari’s followers occupied some coastal barangays in September 2013 and engaged soldiers and police in sporadic hostilities that lasted three weeks.

Al-Kwarizimi Indanan, NHA district manager, said the turnover of permanent shelters to the evacuees will start by December this year citing they could complete the construction of at least 5,000 by that time.

Indanan said the remaining 587 housing units will be completed by June 2015.

The NHA is set to construct a total of 5,587 housing units comprising 3,498 houses on stilts and 2,089 houses on land.

The houses on land will consist of 1,476 duplex type and 613 two-storey type of houses or a total of 2,089 units.

Indanan said the permanent shelters for the evacuees will be built in barangays Kasanyangan, Mariki, Rio Hondo, Sta. Catalina, Sta. Barbara and Taluksangay.

The evacuees are currently staying in seven transitory sites and at the evacuation centers along the R.T. Lim Boulevard and Mayor Joaquin Enriquez Memorial Sports Complex.

Indanan said the national government has allocated P2.566 billion for the rehabilitation and construction of permanent shelters for the displaced residents.

He said P800 million of the P2.566 billion was given to the Department of Public Works and Highways for the site development of areas where the permanent shelters will be constructed.

The site development includes road networks and drainage system. (MindaNews)

MNLF right of reply to “NHA says housing for Zambo bkwits finished by June 2015″, (Mindanews, 7 July 2014).

Repeatedly, please be informed that MNLF officially denies participation in that infamous chaos in Zamboanga City of September 2013. Please be informed that MNLF Cmdr Habier Malik, MNLF Leader Nur Misuari, and all members of the Genuine MNLF are not participants in that chaos in Zamboanga City of September 2013. This denial is based on the result of MNLF’s internal affairs field investigation. That chaos was just a false flag operation by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (a revenge of Gen. Emanuel T. Bautista whose father then Gen. Teodulfo Bautista died under the weapon of the MNLF in 1977) to smear dirt on the face of MNLF and a cover-up to the extra-judicial forced eviction by the Local Government of Zamboanga City led by Mayor Bheng Climaco (under the supervision of DILG Sec. Mar Roxas) against the poor marginalized Badjao minorities. Our field investigation result shows no genuine MNLF was hurt, injured, killed, or arrested in that inhumane government operation.

News must be balanced and told once. Propaganda is published repeatedly for a long period, like that false allegation that smears dirt on misuari. The principle of Right of Reply, in journalism, provides a mechanism to correct the imbalance unfairly comitted by media.

so based on your argument, dapat di na ibalita ang tungkol sa pork barrel scam dahil naibalita na, and it smeared dirt on some senators?

You quote the two sides. Hindi pwedeng ang pahayagan ninyo ang lumalabas na accuser.

Halimbawa, yang sinulat ninyo: “Thousands of residents were displaced when Misuari’s followers occupied some coastal barangays in September 2013 and engaged soldiers and police in sporadic hostilities that lasted three weeks.” Lumalabas dyan na kayo, pahayagan ninyo, ang accuser.

Kung professional kayo na journalist at alam ninyo ang values ng pagiging balanse, ganito ang isusulat niyo:

            — Thousands of residents were displaced when allegedly, Misuari’s followers occupied some coastal barangays in September 2013 and engaged soldiers and police in sporadic hostilities that lasted three weeks. Yet, according to the MNLF Director for Communications John R. Petalcorin, “MNLF officially denies participation in that infamous chaos in Zamboanga City of September 2013.
