SURIGAO CITY (MindaNews/03 March) — For the first time, open water swim triathlete-lawyer Ingemar “Pinoy Aquaman” Macarine along with multi-awarded triathlete Francisco “Philippine Triathlon Legend” Lacson will do a charity swim this Sunday in Subic Bay.
Macarine and Lacson will swim the 10-kilometer distance from Grande Island, Bataan to Barrio Barreto in Subic Bay, Olongapo City.
Macarine, who has been doing open water marathon swims in and outside the country to promote marine environmental awareness, climate chance and local tourism, said he got excited with this event.
“Donations from generous friends and kindhearted individuals will be given to the families of the victims of cycle road accidents,” he said, adding they will also raise Bicycle Safety Road Awareness Campaign through this event.
“Kindly support this first-of-its-kind charity swim by donating any amount for every kilometer we swim by clicking:http://gogetfunding.com/for-bicycle-friendly-philippines/,” Macarine added.
The Surigao-born endurance swimmer said Sunday’s swim will serve as part of his training for the upcoming English Channel crossing (London to France) in mid-August this year. (Roel N. Catoto/MindaNews)
