For at least two decades now, couple Nestor and Myrna Mission’s mission has been to offer food to travelers along the Davao-Cotabato highway in Pikit, North Cotabato.Juicy, delicious and fresh, their chicken barbecue is reputedly the best in Mindanao.
Besides, the price is reasonable: chicken paa (leg) or pitso (breast) at P40, P45, P50 depending on the size; atay (liver), batikulon (gizzard) sell for P5 each.
According to the couple, selling chicken barbecue has been their main source of living to support the education of the their children. All of them have already graduated from college, and one is now a registered nurse.
