In Monday's Kapihan sa Dabaw at SM, newly appointed city tourism chief, Rizal Giovanni Aportadera said they still have to come up with a unified long term plan and vision on promoting Davao.
Aportadera, former chair of the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster sa Pilipinas, vowed to reinforce whatever existing programs the former tourism chair started and left behind.
"Tourism is about how well you position a place. It does not only require action but also information and education," Aportadera said.
As the chair of the Davao Environment Committee, Councilor Leo Avila expressed his support to the city tourism council towards making the city an environment friendly place.
A memorandum of understanding between the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP), a government financial institution, and the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (DCCCII) pertaining to their collaboration in reinforcing sustainable development in the region was also signed during the Kapihan.
DCCCII was represented by its president Simeon P. Marfori II while DBP was represented by Edgar N. Seronay. (Thea Padua/MindaNews)
