The signages of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) along Mindanao ‘s highways, particularly on the distance from one point to the other are few and far between.

On the road to Butuan from Davao City, one cannot miss the Jollibee signages that say you’re 183 kilometers away from Butuan; or on the road to Valencia from Davao City; or Cagayan de Oro to elsewhere. The signages don’t make you forget how far or near you are to the next Jollibee branch in the next city.

The popular food chain lists on its website, 40 branches in Mindanao. MindaNews counted 11 in Davao City, six in Cagayan de Oro, five in Zamboanga, three in General Santos, two in Butuan, and one each in Cotabato, Digos, Dipolog, Iligan, Kidapawan, Koronadal (or Marbel), Oroquieta, Ozamiz, Pagadian, Surigao, Tacurong, Tagum and Valencia City which recently started its 24-hour operations.

Not included in the website are Jollibee branches located in Panabo City, Ipil in Zamboanga Sibugay and a mall outlet in Tagum City.

The 24-hour operation in the Valencia branch started mid-March and was based on a survey. The Davao-Cagayan de Oro road via Bukidnon is a very busy highway, where travel is 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Davao City has only one 24-hour store, among the 11 branches here.
