Chief Insp. Leo Ajero, city chief of police, said the lecture aims to advance the skills of the city police and the 603rd Explosives and Ordnance Disposal Unit in handling emergency situations involving bombs.
Ajero said the training is part of the RP-US Balikatan.
He said US servicemen are teaching the police and EOD teams new techniques and technical expertise in handling bomb detonation and disposal especially in thickly populated areas.
“The lecture is very timely especially that our neighboring towns were recently victims of bombing activities,” Ajero said.
He said he plans to echo the lecture to the members of the Bantay Bomba and even to the civilian volunteer organizations or barangay tanods. (Williamor A. Magbanua/MindaNews)
