Organizers expect by the end of the camp that participants shall have become “better agents of unity and understanding and to influence others to do the same.”
The Koronadal camp will be held at The Farm in Barangay Carpenter Hill while the Zamboanga City camp will be held at the Nuestra Senora La Virgen del Pilar Formation Center in Mercedes.
The Ayala Foundation, Inc. is supported in this endeavor by the United States Embassy.
“Participants will experience a variety of fun and meaningful activities that will challenge them and highlight important values such as trust, respect, and teamwork to help them become more
effective leaders and advocates of peace. This opportunity will provide them with a clearer and more concrete perception of their visions, goals, and aspirations for their selves and their
communities. In the end, we hope that our participants will be inspired to play an active role in building peace,” the Ayala Foundation said.
A hundred young leaders will be screened and selected for the camp. They should be from ·16 to 19 years old, in-school or out of school – although “out-of-school youth may be a little over than the cut-off age.
For the Koronadal camp, participants should be a resident from one of these areas. Cotabato City, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao, Marawi City, North Cotabato, Saranggani, Shariff Kabunsuan, South Cotabato and Sultan Kudarat.
For the Zamboanga Camp, participants should be from Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-tawi, Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur and Zamboanga Sibugay.
The participant must “display leadership in their respective communities, whether formal
or informal positions,” is a “model of integrity and discipline and possesses excellent moral character,” can “communicate well in Filipino and/or English,” and should be “endorsed by the local/barangay youth group, school or school organization, religious community, or Ayala Foundation’s partner NGOs.”
Applicants are required to accomplish one set of application forms which should be placed in a sealed short brown envelope and forwarded to the camp secretariat at c/o Ayala Foundation, Inc., on the 10th floor of the BPI Main Bldg. along Ayala Avenue cor.
