The distribution of rice and checks is under the ACT for Peace Programme of the GoP-United Nations Multi-Donor Programme.
DXMS Radio for Peace in Cotabato City reported that Arroyo also turned over P1,075,000 to women organizations in four peace and development communities in the province.
The towns of Pikit, Carmen and Pigcawayan including Barangay Kadpangi received P260,000 each for the construction of health stations.
The women’s organization in Barangay Liliongan, Carmen received a check worth P70,000 for the establishment of a Botika ng Bayan.
Arroyo arrived in Cotabato City around 1:20 on Saturday to preside the 4th joint Cabinet-Regional Development Council meeting at the newly opened multi-million city hall called the “people’s palace”
The presidential delegation included Presidential Chief of Staff Michael Defensor, Presidential Management Staff head Arthur Yap, Media head Serge Remonde, and Social Welfare Secretary Esperanza Cabral.
World Food Program country deputy director Worie Algassim was also present.
