The MILF turned over Peralta to Sr. Supt. Efren Valeriano, provincial police director, and to members of the International Monitoring Team (IMT) headed by Lt. Col. Abdulrazak bin Husain.
Peralta was also tagged as responsible for homicide and series of rape cases in barangays Burias and Pangyan in Glan town. He is also known to be engaged in sea piracy.
Informants reportedly tipped off the MILF that resulted in the arrest of the fugitive on July 13.
Dominguez was impressed by the cooperation between the rebels, the people in the community and the military for preserving peace in the province.
Sapu Masla, a stronghold of the MILF, is a recognized Peace and Development Community (PDC). The barangay has been receiving several projects from USAID-Growth with Equity in Mindanao (GEM) that constructed a footbridge and fish-trading center.
Sarangani Representative Erwin Chiongbian has provided new classrooms while the IMT has helped in the renovation of two classrooms in Mama Wawa Elementary School in Sapu Masla.
Chiongbian urged the people of Sarangani to help the government in preserving peace in the province.
