The raid was based on a search warrant issued by Judge Arvin Balagot, presiding judge of the 2nd municipal circuit trial court of the towns of M’lang ang Matalam.
Ajero said a tipster from the village texted the Matalam PNP on Dalmacio’s activity, prompting the police to apply for a search warrant.
Ajero disclosed that during the raid, Dalmacio voluntarily surrendered and admitted he was manufacturing assorted firearms reportedly for security reasons.
Ajero said Dalmacio claimed the guns were to ward off cattle rustlers who steal their carabaos and cows at night.
The raiding team recovered one homemade Thompgram with magazine and live ammunitions; one homemade 20-gauge shotgun; one cal. 40 light pistol; one hand grenade; one homemade 22 revolver; 2 homemade 12-gauge assembly; one 22 gauge barrel; assorted magazines and live ammunitions including assorted tools used in making various firearms.
