Rodolfo Javier Salas, 52, was declared dead on arrival at the St. Elizabeth
Hospital while Editha Bocadon Dava, who suffered serious injuries, died at
the hospital operating room.
Injured were Angel Canoto Bocadon, 34; Junaid Cabogatan, 17; Ruvyl M
Watin,17; Marilou Matos, 18; Maribeth Jovita, 29; Romy Roquiña, 17 and John
Cabogatan, who was in Phase B of the public market, narrated he felt someone
hanging something heavy on his shirt from behind. He said he immediately took
it out but threw it as soon as he realized it was a grenade. The grenade
Mayor Pedro Acharon, Jr., Chief Superintendent German Doria, Region 12 police
director and City Police Director Senior Superintendent Alfredo Toroctocon
arrived in the hospital past 8 in the evening to visit the injured. The
city's social welfare department was also deployed in the hospital to assist
the victims with medicines and other needs.
