In a press statement, the mayor said Tan’s key representatives already talked to him about the planned investments, which will include a P1-billion distillery and a P250,000 soft drinks plant.
Emano claimed that the city’s stable peace and order condition, coupled with the easy processing of business licenses, are the prime reasons why many investors are opting to invest in this city.
The planned investments were initially announced by Tan during the 15th Mindanao Business Conference held recently in Zamboanga City where he was the guest speaker.
With the huge infusion of capital, Emano said Tan’s plan will surely translate into more jobs for city residents, thus boosting the already vibrant local economy.
The mayor said the report on Tan’s plan has already reached President Gloria-Macapagal Arroyo. “Ayusin mo yan at baka masayang yan (Make sure it will materialize and won’t be wasted),” Mayor Emano quoted the President as saying in a phone conversation.
