Lt. Col. Paul Atal, commanding officer of the Army 75th Infantry Battalion said they have conducted a series of civic military operations in President Quirino town since November to “win the hearts and minds” of the residents.
He said the most popular of the civic military operations they have conducted is “Operation Tuli and Free Haircut.”
Atal said Army doctors performed circumcision operations on 13 children while 29 residents were given free haircuts by the soldiers.
“These activities have spurred pride among our soldiers. We realized that we have the capabilities to help our less privileged countrymen,” Atal said.
Last November, Atal and his men have also conducted mercy missions in the villages of Lambayong town with the help of US soldiers stationed in Central Mindanao. The missions treated 220 residents in that town.
