Babylyn Omar, station manager, said the fire started at around 10:55 a.m. and was put off by firemen after 40 minutes.
Omar said the second floor of the wooden building served as quarters for some station personnel.
She said heavy rains the past few days apparently grounded some electrical wiring on the second floor.
The station’s radio equipment is on the ground floor, she said.
The station is being run by the Jolo vicariate’s Sulu-Tawi-tawi Broadcasting Foundation. (MindaNews)
