Caught in the act were Ramel Cabingatan, 22, and Jumir Ornopia, 22, both of Carmen in Cagayan de Oro City. The two were arrested following a tip received by Datu Paglas Mayor Muhammad Paglas. Police then set up an entrapment operation against the two. Taken from Cabingatan and Ornopia were two XRM motorcycles. Based on registration documents, police said the stolen vehicles were owned by Alejandro Bravotilde of Bukidnon and Romeo Tiomale of Camaman-an, Cagayan de Oro City. The mayor said the two have already brought in stolen motorcycles in Datu Paglas twice, the latest of which was last July. They reportedly posed as bike enthusiasts selling their motorcycles cheap. Paglas said they sell the vehicles at over P10,000 each. This morning's arrest was the second time the local government of Datu Paglas and its police force have arrested suspected vehicle thievesthis past week. Last Saturday, authorities also nabbed a resident of Isulan, Sultan Kudarat for stealing a "Skylab," a motorcycle with outriggers so as to accommodate more passengers. (MindaNews)
