The PPOC meeting, held Monday, was attended by the mayors of the province's 17 towns, the Philippine National Police, Philippine Army, establishment owners and the academe.
Governor Jesus Sacdalan said the surveillance cameras would be a big help in monitoring customers entering the malls and for possible identification of any suspicious-looking individual.
"This could also help our police authorities in solving cases such as robbery and even bombing attempts of any business establishment in North Cotabato," the governor said.
Sacdalan, however, admitted that installing close circuit cameras would be additional financial burden to the business owners but it could also help in preventing any bombing attempt.
Sacdalan said the close circuit camera costs from P30, 000 up to P50,000 each.
The governor is also very optimistic that installing this facility in the malls and business firms will get the support of various sectors, especially the business chambers in North Cotabato.
North Cotabato vice Governor Emmanuel Piñol said he is preparing for a resolution on the mandatory installation of surveillance cameras to various establishments.
"As much as possible we would like to implement the plan the soonest possible time to avoid any bombing incident in North Cotabato," Piñol stressed.
