The Public Affairs section of the 10th Infantry Division in a press statement blamed the abduction on the NPA under "Lalay" and said it will "strictly adhere to the 'No Neogtiation Policy' of the government and will never negotiate with the NPA."
"The 10ID will continue its military operations purposely to rescue the soldiers and run after the perpetrators," the statement read.
Abducted were SSg Corbita, 48,of K9 Unit and SSg Jerasmeo of 11 RCDG, RESCOM.
SSg Jerasmeo was supposed to meet his brother, a company guard in Mount Diwalwal, to ask money for him for the christening of his first grandchild in Nabunturan town, also in Compostela Valley.
Corbita, the press statement read, "was performing administrative functions when they were stopped and eventually abducted by more or less 30 NPAs along the road."
The press statement said abduction is "a habitual offense committed by the NPA."
"They attacked soldiers who were not performing combat duties," the press statement read.
The NPA has not issued a statement confirming or denying the abduction. (MindaNews)
