Cedric Piralla, head of the ICRC’s sub-delegation in Davao City told MindaNews by telephone that the three ICRC personnel had just left the provincial jail for their regular visit, when the armed men took them.
The three arrived in Jolo on January 13 and were supposed to leave for Zamboanga this afternoon.
Dr. Rene Guioguio, ICRC Manila Communication Manager, quoting ICRC Philippines’ Roland Bigler, told MindaNews the names of the personnel will be released later as they are still “informing their families.”
The provincial jail is located at the back of the Sulu capitol. (MindaNews)
