City jail warden Insp. Buenaventura Pedrita identified the fugitives as Musali Cado, who is charged with multiple murder, and Samuel Nacario who is facing charges of theft.
Pedrita said the jail guards learned that the suspect escaped by destroying the window grills beside their improvised bed.
Pedrita said the escapees’ used a saw in cutting the 20 mm iron grills of Cell Number 2, passed the narrow area between the office of the city general services and city jail and fled towards Nuangan area.
It is not clear how Cado and Nacario got hold of a saw.
Cado, also known as Musali gardo, Musalim Abas, and Dyanggo, was arrested in Pres. Quirino, Sultan Kudarat, on February 21 this year.
Police here said Cado is the fourth member of the Al Khobar they arrested since November 2007.
Cado, in an interview over dxND sometime February, admitted he participated in the February 2, 2007 jailbreak at the Cotabato provincial rehabilitation center where 48 inmates escaped, including those charged with extortion, kidnapping, and murder in relation to bombings.
Cado is among 30 Al Khobar members charged with murder, multiple frustrated murder, and multiple attempted murder in connection with the November 22, 2007 bombing in Kidapawan City that killed a mall employee and injured eight others.
