Pederio said the rebels also snatched three rifles owned by the natives and a mobile phone.
In a statement issued today, the Herminio Alfonso Command of the New Peoples Army (NPA) in Southern Mindanao Region claimed responsibility for the raid.
Isabel Santiago, spokesperson of the rebel unit, said they conducted the raid after receiving a complaint from the villagers against members of the Bagani, a group of armed natives operating in North Cotabato.
Santiago said the rebels confiscated an M16 Armalite rifle, a hand grenade, two rifle grenades, a Nokia 2600 mobile phone and ammunition.
She said the Bagani is supported by the Army and North Cotabato police.
The NPA said Hunco tried to wrestle with one of the rebels during the raid.
