Insurance firm manager nabbed for fake car registrations

Supt. Joel Limson, chief of Tacurong City PNP, identified the suspect as Romeo Fernando Dela Cruz, 34, manager of the First Integrated Insurance Company whose office is located near the building of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) in Poblacion, Tacurong City.

Limson said that during the raid they confiscated from the suspect a stub of the Official Receipt (OR) and two stubs of Certificate of Registration (CR) allegedly coming from the Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Tacurong City.

“After we scrutinized those documents, we found them to be bogus,” said Limson in a radio interview.

Allegedly, the documents were issued to a number of stolen motorcycles, Limson added.

Limson said an informant tipped them of the suspect’s alleged modus operandi.   After a week of surveillance, the police raided Dela Cruz’s office.

Dela Cruz is now under the custody of the Tacurong City PNP and appropriate charges will be filed against him on Monday, Limson said.  (Malu Cadelina-Manar/MindaNews)
