Ma. Gloria Tango said the jobs fairs, which will be held in the cities of Kidapawan, Cotabato and General Santos, will cater to new college and technical-vocational graduates and displaced workers from various parts of the region.
Region 12 covers the provinces of South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, North Cotabato and the cities of General Santos, Koronadal, Kidpawan, Cotabato and Tacurong.
Tango said the activity, dubbed “mega jobs fair,” will be held simultaneously at the South Seas Mall in Cotabato City, KCC Mall in General Santos and the city gymnasium in Kidapawan.
She said the three jobs fairs, which are part of the agency's activities for the Labor Day celebrations on Friday, will be participated in by local companies and various domestic and international job placement agencies.
“We're expecting at least 8,000 job offerings from our job placement agencies and companies,” she said.
She said they expect at least 100 workers to be hired for various local jobs and 200 others for overseas placements in the Kidapawan fair and at least 100 for local jobs and 1,000 for overseas jobs in the Cotabato activity.
In this city, she said they are targeting at least 2,000 workers to get hired for local or domestic jobs and another 5,000 for overseas placements. (Allen V. Estabillo/MindaNews)
