Davao Doc holds 3rd postgraduate course

The two-day medical itinerary of Mang Tonio will start with the discovery that he is Hepatitis B positive and this opens the topic of Hepatitis in the Workplace. Dr. Erlinda Valdellon, President of the Hepatology Society of the Philippines, ( the only national liver society recognized by the Asian-Pacific Association of the Philippines, the Philippines Medical Association and the Philippine College of Physicians) will speak on this very timely and relevant issue.

The other lectures will center on Health Benefits for Filipino Patients and Doctors by Dr. Carlos Panelo, Approach to a Pre-Diabetic by Dr. Mary Ann Lim-Abrahan, Purpura, When do we Worry? By Dr. Christine Bernal , and recurrent and Difficult to treat UTI by Dr. Albert Chua.

The second day journey of Mang Tonio focuses on Managing the Anxious and Depressed Patient by Dr. Ben Vista, Anemia, Determining the Cause: Spray Kaya?  by Dr. Honorata Baylon , a hematologist, and Dr. Irma Macalinao, a toxicologist , Back Pains Sakit Likod Ko! Bakit? By Dr. Beatrice Tiangco (Oncologist) and Dr. Jojo Antigua, (Rheumatologist).

The important role of nurses in the healthcare system is also given importance with a topic on Nurses: Their Pivotal Role by Mrs. Maria Karina M. Santos, R.N.

Last but certainly no the least is the presentation of Cardiology Care: State of the Art in Davao City to be presented by Dr. Bernard Chiew and Dr. Raul Coching,  presenting the latest developments in Diagnostic and Therapeutic Invasive Cardiovascular procedures which are now available in Davao Doctors Hospital.
