Higaonon writes Bukidnon's first epic novel
MALAYBALAY CITY (MindaNews/26 February) – He had always longed to help save the tales he had known since childhood through nanangen (oral storytelling), a dying tradition. Now, this 29-year old Higaonon writer has made history by becoming the first writer from Bukidnon to have written a full-length epic novel on his tribe.
Telesforo S. Sungkit Jr, from Kisolon, Sumilao town, is launching his first novel entitled “Batbat Hi Udan” (The Story of Udan) on February 27 at the Bukidnon State University Media Resource Center in time for the grand opening of the 2009 Kaamulan Festival.

DAVAO CITY (MindaNews/27 November) – Two books written by Moro authors will be launched on November 28 and 29 in Sharif Kabunsuan province and Davao City, respectively.
“The Long Road to Peace: Inside the GRP-MILF Peace Process,” written by Salah Jubair, believed to be the pseudonym of Mohagher Iqbal, chair of the Moro Islamic Liberatioin Front (MILF) peace panel will be launched Wednesday at 9 a.m. at Camp Darapanan in Sultan Kudarat town, Shariff Kabunsuan while “Children of the Ever-Changing Moon,” an anthology of essays written by young Moro writers, will be launched at the National Bookstore in SM, Davao on Thursday, Nov. 29, from 5 to 7 p.m.
