The long wait for "Davao Harvest 2" is over

DAVAO CITY (MindaNews/06 February) – Three decades after its first volume was published, “Davao Harvest” volume 2 is finally out.

Edited by Ricardo M. de Ungria and Tita Lacambra Ayala, and published through the support of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, the book comes 30 years after the first Davao Harvest, edited by Tita Lacambra Ayala and the late Alfrredo Navarro Salanga, saw print in 1979.

MINDANAO 2008: More books than 2007, more subjects

DAVAO CITY (MindaNews/02 January) –  An initial listing of  the harvest for 2008 of books and journals on Mindanao or written by Mindanawons shows at least five more than the 30 titles in 2007,  many of them still on peace and history – the dominant themes since 2000.

DAVAO CITY (MindaNews/02 January)  -- Mindanao’s image as an alleged “haven of terrorists”  has been reinforced by yet another book on Mindanao and Terrorism: “Rebels of Mindanao,” written by an American West Point graduate who recently lived in Mindanao, based in Davao City, for three years.

MINDANAO 2006: Fewer Mindanao books in 2006 but….

DAVAO CITY (MindaNews/09 January) –  The harvest for 2006 wasn’t as bountiful as the previous years’ for books about Mindanao or written by Mindanawons, but 2006 was the year a Mindanawon author won the National Book Award for History.
