Cotabato City voted for inclusion in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) in the January 2019 plebiscite and became officially part of the BARMM on December 15, 2020. Its health component, however, is still under Region 12 as of 2 Jan 2021.
