Abel Moya of Pakigdait Inc., a non-government organization supporting peace-building initiatives here, said that in Kauswagan, 146 families were affected, 43 houses totally ruined and another 116 houses partially damaged by the floods last January 17.
“These are also communities who are direct beneficiaries of our grassroots peace-building initiatives,” he said.
Moya added that relief per family costs P1,000.
He said they have given each family one large blanket, sleeping mat, family mosquito net, flashlight with batteries, water pail, cooking pot, kitchen utensil such as plates, glasses, spoons and forks.
The affected barangays are Bagumbayan, Lapayan, Tacub, Poblacion, Kawit Oriental and Kawit Occidental. (Violeta M. Gloria / MindaNews)
