Wheelchair
(to the tune of My Way)
(dedicated to the chief)
and now the end is near
and so i glide ‘nto the final wheelchair
midas, i’ll say it clear
i’ll state my case of which i’m certain
i’ve lived a life that’s full
in expensive condos and every highways
and more, much more than this
i did it mam’s way
regrets i have a few
but then again, too few to mention
i did what i have to do
as mam wanted me to
without exception
i plan its charter course
each careful step
around midnight
and more, much more than this
i did it mam’s way
yes there wer times
i’m sure you knew
when i deposit more
more than i should
but through it all
when there was saln
i make it up
and deny it out
i faced it all
i stood stall
and did it mam’s way
i loved, and laughed and cried
i have my fill, my share of grabbing
and now as tears subside
i find it all frightening
to think i did all that
and i may say
not in kapal way
oh no, oh no, not me
i did it mam’s way
for what is a man
what has he got
if not dollar accounts
then he has not
to say the things
he truly feels
and not the words
of one who walks out
the records shows
i took the blows
and did it mam’s way.
(repeat 3 times)
