Jabidah Massacre

Moro women join a protest rally at Tantawan Park in Cotabato City Tuesday (18 March 2014) to commemorate the 46th year of the Jabidah Massacre. The incident, which supposedly took place in Corregidor Island in 1968, involved the killing of a number of Moro warriors secretly recruited by the Marcos government to reclaim Sabah. The massacre has been regarded as the spark that ignited the Moro insurgency in Mindanao. MindaNews photo by Toto Lozano
