There's supposed to be a logging ban in the area but trucks loaded with logs continue to go through the dozens of military and police check points that dot the highway.

MAITUM, Sarangani, 27 October 2002 -- Dr. Eusebio Dizon (left), curator 1 at the National Museum and head of the Archaeological Studies Program of the University of the Philippines, headed a team to do a preliminary study on the cave in Barangay Kiambing, which yielded shards from various periods, including those likely to be 3000 years old. Dizon said samples of the shards would be sent abroad for precise dating.
