Brig. Gen. Amodia assumes post as OIC of 10th ID

Lt. Gen. Yano paid tribute to Maj. Gen. Boac’s year and a half tenure and offered words of encouragement as he forges on a new chapter of life outside the military. He further commended Maj. Gen. Boac for leading and steering 10ID to a 20% of the total accomplishments of the AFP. Such great achievement was credited to his sound and able leadership in spite of the challenges being a newly created and activated Division.

Maj. Gen. Boac on his part expressed his utmost thanks to the Philippine Army for the trust, confidence and support accorded to him during his stint. He also expressed his gratitude to the individuals and institutions that all the way supported the command.  

Brig. Gen. Amodia, being the Deputy, 10ID is acting in his capacity as the GOIC of this command prior to the assumption of the next Division Commander sometime upon approval of the order which is currently lodged at the Office of the President, Malacanang Palace, Metro Manila. The incoming Commander will assume post when the Commander-In-Chief, President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo signs his order.

The GOIC, Brig. Gen. Amodia is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Criminology at the University of Visayas, Cebu City and his military career started as a rifleman in the defunct Philippine Constabulary. He was called to active duty and joined the Philippine Army on June 30, 1976. He first served as Platoon Leader in Mindanao, Company Commander at 34IB, 10ID in Luzon; Battalion Executive Officer of the 43IB, 5ID in Visayas; Battalion Commander of 30IB, 4ID in Mindanao; Brigade Commander of the 404th Infantry Brigade, 10ID; Commander, Task Force Raptor and Assistant Division Commander of the 10ID.

In his assumption speech, Brig. Gen. Amodia appealed to the Local Chief Executives, Line Government Agencies, Non Government Organizations, clergies and friends of the command to support him the same way they supported his predecessor. He further pointed out that he will fast track and intensifies efforts in the counter insurgency campaign in order to achieve the common goal of peace and stability conducive to national growth and development.

“I am confident that during my designation as the General Officer In Charge, I will be leading a Division that is versatile and flexible, firm yet humane-one that is characterized by sensitivity to learn from our experiences, from our mistakes and above all, able to synergize the talents and wisdom that everyone has to offer,” Brig. Gen. Amodia added.
