These and other questions will be answered when the Hepatology Society of the Philippines, the national organization dedicated to improving research and education on the importance of the liver in health and disease, will bring the Liver Caravan to Davao City on July 16-17, 2010 at the Royal Mandaya Hotel.
The Liver Caravan is a continuing medical education program designed for general physicians, family physicians, internists, and other medical specialists and healthcare workers with the aim of clarifying complex issues of common liver diseases such as Viral Hepatitis, Liver Cirrhosis, Liver Cancer, and other infections affecting the liver such as TB of the liver.
Dr. Marilyn O. Arguillas, Consultant Gastroenterologist based in Davao City, who is currently the President of the Hepatology Society, said the Liver Caravan gives a unique approach to medical conventions through short, concise, and straight to-the-point mini-lectures as answers to important and common clinical questions that beset the physicians in their daily practice.
Experts in the field of Gastroenterology and Hepatology from all over the country (Metro Manila, Cebu, and Davao) are among the invited speakers.

As part of the Hepatology Society of the Philippines’ Advocacy and Public Health Education Program, during the one and a half day continuing medical education program, a special Seminar-Workshop for barangay health workers on the Liver in Health and Disease will also be held on July 16, 2010 at the Royal Mandaya Hotel. This seminar-workshop is free and barangay health workers are invited to attend. Invitations are being sent through the Provincial and City Health Officers.
