The group said it is committed to look after the welfare and interests of the media workers in North Cotabato, especially those facing death threats and libel.

The group is also optimistic today’s assembly will strengthen more their ranks and preserve their integrity and dignity as members of the fourth estate.

The NUJP, as an organization, is aimed at promoting and protecting the economic interests and social well-being of the press, upgrade professional skills, uplift the standards of the journalistic ethics, and implement welfare programs for its members.    ***
