Meeting set on Davao sports body

Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Chairman William "Butch" Ramirez will be flying home to attend the meeting, according to his Executive Assistant Joseph Encabo. It was Ramirez who presented the idea of the DCSC to the sports stakeholders last year after consulting with Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.

The meeting of the DCSC will be open to the public hearing, the press release emailed to MindaNews Sports said.

Representatives from the City Government of Davao, PSC, Private Schools
Athletic Association, Department of Education, Davao Sports Council Inc., Association of Brgy.Captains, Sangguniang Kabataan Federation, Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc., Sports Communications Organization- Davao, Davao Sportswriters Association, Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster sa Pilipinas and Commission on Higher Education are expected to attend the meeting.

Interim Vice-chairman Atty. Marvin Melodias said the creation of the Commission, as a coordinating body will soon prevent the holding of conflicting tournaments as experienced in the past.

It will be the start of the conduct of multi-level events for elite and recreational sports enthusiasts in the city, Melodias pointed out.
